Tips: I am using a 72VDC brushless DC motor with hall sensor feedback for my application. How can I stop the motor in less than one second?
A more normal operating scenario would be to predict in advance when you need to stop the motor and then start the deceleration curve with 0 rpm at the point you need to stop. You can compare this to operating your car. When you approach a red light at 50 mph, you don't keep that speed until you are at the top of the intersection.
