Tips: Why can't any brushless DC motor controller and motor be connected arbitrarily to ensure proper rotation and the brushless DC motor will cause phase sequence reversal?

Generally speaking, a brushless DC motor will go through the following process during the actual motion. Motor rotation → rotor magnetic field direction change → stator magnetic field and rotor magnetic field angle reach 60° electrical angle → Hall signal change → phase line current direction change → stator magnetic field forward across 60° electrical angle → stator magnetic field and rotor magnetic field angle reach 120° electrical angle → motor continuous rotation.
In this way, we know that Hall sensors have six correct states. When a Hall sensor informs the controller, the controller will be in a specific phase sequence output state. Therefore, the phase sequence is reversed in order to accomplish the following task - to move the electrical angle of the stator by 60°.
